ALFIE LEADS THE WAY TO A NEW HOME

ALFIE LEADS THE WAY TO A NEW HOME

“A house is not a home without a dog”, is a saying Bury couple Stuart and Rosemary Andrews have taken to their heart.

When the pair, who have three daughters, were looking for a holiday home near the Lake District, one property stood out.

Hazelwood Hall, with 18.5 of mature gardens and woodlands, provides an ideal nature trail for walking their chocolate Labrador, Alfie.

The imposing property in the Lancashire village of Silverdale, has been transformed into 21 appealing apartments by developers Pringle Homes.

The hall, originally a family home until it was bequeathed to the Roman Catholic Church, subsequently became a convent.

A host of period features have been refurbished and complemented with contemporary kitchens and bathrooms to create 10 homes

The Nuns’ Quarters were rebuilt, in keeping with the original building, adding a further 11 apartments, where the Andrews family have bought a two bedroom holiday home.

“We thought it was a lovely idea to have a holiday home for the whole family to enjoy and we searched online for somewhere close to the Lake District”, said Stuart, 57, a pharmacist."

He added:“As soon as we found Hazelwood Hall and came to see it, we knew it was perfect."

“There is some wonderful walks and we are taking advantage of the grounds and the surrounding countryside."

“It is an ideal environment for families who enjoy walking and Alfie has taken to his new home extremely well.”

More than half the homes at Hazelwood Hall have been sold, where prices start from £275,000 for a two bedroom apartment to £330,000 for a three bedroom apartment.
